I seemed to care both about the words and the letters equally when writing in school. Learning cursive in 4th grade was fun for me; I taught myself how to draw Gothic letterforms via beginner's calligraphy book and pen when I was 10. I intentionally revamped my handwriting in 7th grade because I saw new letterforms from my peers that I thought were cool. Design school had way less type design than I expected. Beginning to read comics in 2021 was revolutionary for me because I learned there were people separate from the comic artists who did the lettering (sometimes). I wish trade schools taught sign painting, and I like graffiti a lot for someone who has never lived in a big city. Below are some of the results of my insatiable desire to draw letters and words.
